Thick-Film Power Resistors are Compact and Easy to Mount
30W, 50W and 100W variants

Vishay Sfernice has announced the release of three new series of thick film power resistors: LTO30, LTO50, and LTO100. Features and benefits of the new devices include high power handling, superior thermal transfer, small sizes, standard packages, and cost effectiveness.

The LTO30, LTO50, and LTO100 thick film power resistors are available with resistance values from 10mΩ to 1MΩ. Devices are non-inductive by design and cases are isolated. The standard LTO30 and LTO50 series resistors are offered in TO220 packages with power dissipation of 30W and 50W respectively, at 25°C. The standard LTO100 series resistors are supplied in TO247 packages with power dissipation of 100W at 25°C.

Target applications include power conversion, high-speed switching, snubbers, and RF applications.

The devices are available in standard tolerances of ±1% to ±10%, with standard temperature coefficients of ±150ppm/°C. Their (MilStd 202) dielectric strength is up to 1500V RMS for one minute at 10mA max, with insulation resistance ≥104MΩ.

They are tested for drift to a range of specifications, including EN 60115-1 for momentary overload, rapid temperature change and load life; and MilStd 202 for humidity, vibration, terminal strength and shock.

Devices of all three power ratings employ a thick-film resistive element on an alumina substrate. Terminations are of tinned copper. The resistors are designed for use across the -55°C to +175°C temperature range.
