PASSIVE SOLUTIONS
Inductors are Compact and Robust

Full range including automotive types
Inductors are essential components that are used in virtually every electronic system. EPCOS has a full range of solutions, no matter whether the application is industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, telecommunication or data processing.

The EPCOS range of SIMID RF SMT inductors satisfy today’s requirements for smaller designs, greater current handling capability, increased operating temperatures and the highest quality. EPCOS continuously drives the development of RF inductors and offers chip inductors in the complete range of standard case sizes from 0402 to 2220.

With a current handling capability of up to 1A and a maximum inductance value of 680µH, the new SIMID 1210H (B82422H) series is a state-of-the-art product. As a further benefit the new 1210H chokes cover a significant part of the 1812 size range, enabling more compact and cost-saving designs.

EPCOS provides seven different SIMID RF inductor sample kits, each containing the leading types in each family.

For highly compact DC/DC converters which have to handle currents higher than 1A, EPCOS provides matching solutions in the form of its SMT power inductors. The customer can select from 20 different series of devices, with current handling of up to 10A and maximum inductance value of 1000µH.

For example, the company offers ultra-compact types such as the B82470 low-profile power inductor with a footprint of 4.8mm x 4.8mm, a height of just 1.2mm, and constant current handling capability of up to 1.5A.

The B82464* series is designed for automotive applications. With sizes of 6mm x 6mm or 10mm x 10mm, they are suitable for maximum currents of 3.45A or 7.6A and ambient temperatures of 150°C. Additionally, the shielded versions allow easy handling of EMC problems, even in very restricted space.

EPCOS provides three different power inductor sample kits, each containing the high runner types of each family.

To satisfy the growing demand for CAN bus chokes in small sizes, EPCOS has developed a current-compensated version in size 1812, the SIMDAD B82789 series. Based on an I-core, it is available in inductance values of up to 100µH at maximum continuous ambient temperatures of up to 150°C. Both tin- and gold-plated terminals are available, for reflow soldering and gluing respectively.

EPCOS provides sample kits for the new B82789 series and three other series for data and signal lines
