Astec Power has introduced a new generation of digitally controlled, configurable, medium power AC/DC switching power supplies that can provide application-specific solutions with more functionality than a conventional fixed output supply - without cost or time penalties. Representing the industry’s first digitally controlled AC/DC switching power supplies, Astec’s iMP series combines modular design with an onboard microprocessor for programmability and smart communications. ![]() In addition to delivering 50% higher power density than previous generation products, the new switching power supplies use integrated intelligent I²C capabilities to provide smart communication and programmable control features that enable designers to precisely fine tune power for their needs throughout the development process. The easy-to-use microprocessor interface and built-in functionality allows designers to make adjustments to a host of parameters and program key features on each output, including voltage, output enable/sequencing, DC OK thresholds, output current limit and overtemperature threshold. The modular design gives designers the ability to tailor solutions within a selection of three customisable cases in power ratings from 750W to 1500W, accepting input voltages from 85VAC to 264VAC or 120VDC to 350VDC. Modules can be selected as single-, dual- or triple- outputs in power ratings from 36W to 750W. Cases can accommodate up to seven individual modules allowing from one to 21 outputs with output options ranging from 2VDC to 60VDC. iMP Features
Backed by a two-year warranty, the iMP series products meet worldwide safety and performance standards including listings from UL and CE as well as full medical compliance with EN60601-1. Arrow’s in-house power supply customisation and configuration services offer designers a route to application-specific solutions based on iMP technology in as little as two weeks.
