IPMs Deliver Complete Solution for Appliances and Industrial Equipment from 400W to 2500W

International Rectifier’s new series of Integrated Power Modules offer compact, high-performance AC motor drives in a single isolated package. These 600V modules are available with current ratings of 6A, 10A, 16A and 20A, making them well-suited to a wide range of high-performance motion control applications.

Part of the company’s iMOTION* integrated design platform, the devices integrate a three-phase High-Voltage IC (HVIC) gate driver and non-punch-through IGBT. Additional features such as over-temperature monitor, over-current protection and Under-Voltage LockOut (UVLO) provide a high level of protection and fail-safe operation.



These IPMs deliver a complete power stage solution for energy-efficient appliance and light industrial equipment driven by variable speed motors ranging from 400W to 2500W. Other integrated features, such as bootstrap diodes for the high side drive function and the single polarity power supply, simplify overall system design.

Supplied in a fully isolated Single-In-line Package (SIP), the devices minimise PCB space and simplify heatsink isolation and mounting. They are available in open-emitter versions, offering easy current feedback and over-current monitoring for high precision and reliable control; or with an internal current shunt on the negative bus of the inverter.

The family is PIN-compatible, offering an easy upgrade path and the possibility of a common hardware platform.
