Software Modules Cut Cost of Developing Digital Media Applications
Free evaluation, flexible licensing
Developers of digital media applications now have access to a broad range of optimised software modules from Texas Instruments. This production-tested portfolio allows designers to focus on product differentiation, rather than dealing with the production of semi-standard components such as codecs.
TI Digital Media Software is fully documented, production-tested and proven to be easily integrated into audio, video and voice applications. A network of Authorised Software Providers can further simplify the process, offering local technical support, customised to application requirements.
Ease of use has been a key requirement in the creation of TI’s Digital Media Software offering, starting early in the design cycle with a 60-day free evaluation period via a simple click-wrap licence. This approach extends all the way to production, with the flexibility to accommodate a number of pricing options based on project quantity.
Optimised to support the DaVinci™ Technology-based digital media processors, TMS320C6000™ and TMS320C5000™ DSP platforms, TI's Digital Media Software modules include various H.264, Windows Media 9, MPEG4 and MPEG2 components. TI has already published a roadmap of future modules and is committed to supporting the rapid development of this fast-moving area.
The Authorised Software Provider network offers support for TI-enabled IP and customised software, and engineering services for digital media applications. Customers undertaking a free 60-day evaluation are entitled to up to four hours of free support from their nominated Authorised Software Provider, while those moving to production can gain up to 40 hours of support.
