Arrow TFT Seminars Viewed as a Great Success

Two seminars, offering Arrow customers an opportunity to learn how to develop and implement embedded solutions for small TFT display applications using an ARM-based MCU as an example, were judged a great success by customers and Arrow alike.

Each seminar attracted attendees from a wide range of industries including medical, handheld instrumentation, industrial control and climate control systems.

The seminars, one held at Arrow’s Regional Business Centre in Reading and the other in Leeds, featured practical, hands-on training focused on interfacing a 3.5-inch 1/4 VGA TFT screen to a Sharp ARM ‘Bluestreak’ family processor, via a dedicated development kit.

Attendees were able to hone their skills working with a combination of development kits from Logic Product Development (LogicPD) featuring a Sharp LH79524 MCU, and state-of-the-art Hitachi TX09D70 3.5-inch 1/4 VGA TFT display modules. As well as gaining valuable practical experience with leading-edge technology, delegates obtained an overview from Phaedrus systems of the ways in which IAR Systems development tools can simplify and speed the product development process for target applications.

Customer feedback was very positive – and as an added bonus for some of those who attended, six lucky prize winners, three at each seminar, received a complete Logic Sharp ARM development kit, and 12 received an IAR J-Link. Attendees were also entitled to a free extension of their EWARM software past the standard 30-day evaluation time limit.
