Arrow now offers an extended range of Astec and Artesyn medically approved power supplies, including low-, medium- and high-power AC/DC products and one of the industry’s few triple output external power adaptors. The AC/DC range is complemented by a comprehensive portfolio of DC/DC parts suitable for a host of medical applications.  Astec and Artesyn produce a wide range of single- and multiple-output AC/DC power supplies certified in accordance with EN-60601-1/IEC601-1-for use in medical equipment requiring lower ground leakage and higher isolation. Suitable for non patient-contact designs, the range includes low-to-medium power AC/DC supplies with power ratings up to 250W, configurable digitally controlled products with powers up to 1500W. The AC/DC range, which also includes external power adapters, is complemented by board-level isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converters that can be deployed once compliance with EN60601-1 is addressed via the AC/DC supply. 40W – 250W Industry standard footprints, wide-range AC inputs, adjustable outputs and remote sense capabilities mean that the Astec and Artesyn low power, medically approved AC/DC supplies provide maximum design flexibility for both new and existing designs. All of the supplies deliver full power to 50°C and derated operation to 70°C. Built-in EMI filtering and protection against overvoltage and overload conditions is standard, while many models offer additional features such as EN61000-3-2 compliance, supervisory outputs and single wire current share.
External Power Adapters With the launch of the DPT50-M, Astec is one of the very few companies able to offer a triple output, medically approved external power adapter. Available with power ratings from 30W to 50W, this adapter offers output voltage options of 3.3V, 5V and 12V; 5V, 12V and -12V; 5V, 15V and -15V; and 5V, 24V and 12V. This supply plus the DPS50-M series, which offers single-output voltage options of 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V and 48V, is ideal for portable medical equipment designed for round-the-clock operation. Medium- and High-Power Medical Supplies Offering wide input voltage options of 85VAC – 264VAC or 120VDC to 350VDC, Astec iMP configurable, intelligent power supplies feature an onboard microprocessor for programmability and smart communications. A modular design gives designers the ability to tailor solutions with single-, dual- and triple-outputs in power ratings from 400W to 1500W. Arrow offers the facility to configure modules in a selection of three customisable cases, and each case can accommodate up to seven individual modules with single, dual and triple outputs from 2VDC to 60VDC. DC/DC Converters Once the need to comply with EN60601-1 is addressed via a suitable AC/DC power supply, Astec and Artesyn DC/DC converters can be used to convert and deliver board level power. High-efficiency, high-density DC/DC converter products include isolated and non-isolated Point-Of-Load (POL) devices spanning power levels from 6W to 600W. Astec Power Medical - Applications
