High and Low Side Power MOSFET Drivers
 
Suitable for voltages up to 600V
The latest high voltage power MOSFET drivers from ON Semiconductor are robust and flexible devices that will suit applications from white goods to electronic lighting ballasts.

The ON Semiconductor NCP5106, NCP5304 and NCP5111 are high voltage, high and low side drivers providing two outputs for direct drive of 2 N-channel power MOSFETs. The MOSFETs can be arranged in a half-bridge or any other high side/low side combination. The devices feature a bootstrap technique to ensure appropriate drive of the high side power switch.

Suitable for gate drive supplies between 10V and 20V, the ON Semiconductor drivers are robust, rugged and flexible and suitable for applications with requirements up to 600V. Output source and sink current capabilities are 250mA and 500mA, respectively. All of the devices are 3.3V and 5V input logic compatible.

The drivers have dV/dt immunity ratings of ±50V/ns and provide matched propagation delays between both channels. Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO) is also provided for both channels. Each device works with two independent inputs and is fully compatible with 3.3V and 5V input logic.

The NCP5106 is available in two versions. Version A features independent logic inputs to accommodate all topologies; Version B offers cross conduction protection with internal fixed dead time. The NCP5304 also features cross conduction protection and has an internal fixed dead time of 150ns. The NCP5111 offers an internal fixed dead time of 650ns on one input.

All of the devices are available in SO-8 SMD and PDIP-8 through-hole formats, while the NCP5106 and NCP5304 can also be supplied in SO-14 SMD and PDIP-14 through-hole options for improved creepage distance.
