Compact Passives Suit RF Requirements

Walsin Technology Corporation specialises in passive components based on ceramic materials and advanced LTCC process. RF products include antennas, inductors, capacitors, diplexer, balun, filters and specialised components such as integrated balanced filters.



Walsin’s antenna range includes Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics (LTCC) chip and PCB-based, SMD type devices for use in Bluetooth, WLAN and Global Positioning System (GPS) bands. Multilayer ceramic filters are available in band pass variants, with or without integrated balun, to provide the most flexible design on a board for the 2.45GHz and 5GHz frequency ranges and in low-pass configurations.

Walsin also offers a range of multilayer ceramic baluns for WLAN and Bluetooth architectures with three standard balanced port impedances. In addition to integrated balanced filters, many matched specifically with Bluetooth devices from major chipset manufacturers, the 2.0mm x 1.2mm package provides space saving for new applications. The balanced port impedance design, well matched to chipsets, enables an optimised performance.

Walsin designs high frequency inductors for a wide variety of applications. Their small sizes make them particularly suitable for portable and card-sized equipment including cordless and mobile phones, audio appliances and PDAs. The devices feature high Q factor and Self-Resonant Frequencies (SRF) up to 13GHz.

The company's product range is built on its core expertise in multilayer ceramics technologies, which allows it to produce reliable, high-performance MultiLayer Chip Capacitors (MLCCs), safety standard recognised ceramic capacitors, chip resistors and MultiLayer chip Varistors (MLVs) for ESD and surge protection. Common mode filters are also available for USB and IEEE 1394 high-speed EMI applications.
