PASSIVE SOLUTIONS
Resistor Arrays Provide Exceptional Precision
Combined relative error less than 0.03%, ratio tolerance as tight as 0.01%

For applications requiring precision sets of resistor elements, the PRA100, PRA135 and PRA182 resistor arrays from Vishay Intertechnology may be used to replace more expensive matched resistors without compromising precision or reliability. The devices are available with up to eight resistive elements in a single package.

The PRA series uses an ultra-stable passivated nichrome resistive layer, high-quality contacts between the resistive and conductive layers and a proprietary patterning and laser trimming technique. As a result the devices eliminate the need for digital drift compensation, which in turn simplifies design and enables the use of a smaller device footprint.

In addition to outstanding stability, the thin film PRA arrays provide a tight Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) of 10ppm/°C, TCR tracking of 2ppm/°C (1ppm/°C with restrictions) and a ratio tolerance as tight as 0.01%.

The PRA100 is specified for a resistance range of 100Ω to 200kΩ, the PRA135 for a range of 100Ω to 300kΩ, and the PRA182 for 100Ω to 1MΩ. Networks with different values are available upon request, with ratios between resistance values ranging up to 1:5,000. Power ratings are 100mW per resistor at +70°C across the range, with limiting voltages of 35V, 75V, and 100V for the PRA100, PRA 135, and PRA 182 respectively. The devices offer very low noise of better than -35dB and a low voltage coefficient of 0.01ppm/V.

The three types of array are designed for use in instrumentation, calibration, and data conversion systems. PRA devices are available in 1mm, 1.35mm, and 1.82mm pitches, with widths of 1.6mm, 1.85mm, and 3mm, and a height profile of 0.38mm.
