Everbouquet International has released two new colour TFT (Thin Film Transistor) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) modules suitable for use in graphics-based portable appliances. The MF480272A43-BF is a 4.3in, 16:9 widescreen, 24-bit module with resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, while the MF240320C22-BFW provides 240 x 320 pixel resolution with low power consumption in 2.2in.
Both devices integrate a transmissive type TFT-LCD panel, a driver circuit and an LED backlight. They use amorphous silicon switching technology and Chip On Glass (COG) assembly techniques.
The MF480272A43-BF provides high image quality, with 16.7 million colours, high contrast and brightness of 280cd/m˛ (typical). It can attain a maximum frame rate of 90Hz and supports 24-bit parallel (RGB) input mode. Suitable for graphical display applications such as handheld gaming terminals, it is designed for viewing from a 6 o’clock direction and operates in the -20°C to +70°C temperature range.
The MF240320C22-BFW is a 2.2in module with pixel size of 240 x 320 (QVGA). It can display up to 262,000 colours and provides high contrast, high brightness (typically 200cd/m˛) and gamma adjustment. Its partial screen display, sleep and standby modes and low active power consumption make it especially suitable for use in mobile telephones.
Designed for viewing from the 12 o’clock position, the MF240320C22-BFW utilises an 80-system 16/18-bit bus interface and includes a high speed RAM write function. It requires a 2.4V to 3.3V power supply.
