Kits Allow Engineers to Assess LED and Photocoupler Technologies

Now available through Arrow, new Toshiba demonstration and design kits will help engineers to rapidly identify, select and evaluate high brightness surface mount LEDs and photocouplers for their target applications.

The Toshiba SMD LED Demo Kit showcases 33 of the company’s LEDs delivering a total of ten different colour options. Pushbuttons allow the user to illuminate all of the LEDs for each individual colour, which include green, yellow, orange, red, blue, blue/green and white.



The Toshiba Photocouplers Design Kit incorporates two samples of each of the company’s latest photocoupler products. These include photo IC output couplers for industrial motor control and industrial CAN interfaces, IGBT/MOSFET gate drivers, and photovoltaic coupler devices. Samples of the latest triac couplers and IC couplers in MFSOP packaging for bus interface and digital isolation applications are also provided.

To further aid the engineer, the new kits also incorporate additional support materials and technical information.

The LED kit includes a copy of Toshiba’s latest LED Product Guide, a CD that provides technical details of the LEDs on the demonstration board and a presentation on the company’s LED technologies. A selection of datasheets and a matrix detailing Toshiba driver ICs that are compatible with the new LEDs also appears on the CD.



In the case of the photocoupler kit, a copy of the Toshiba Photocoupler and Photorelay Product Guide is provided alongside a CD on which engineers will find datasheets for every one of the products in the kit. The CD also contains a presentation covering Toshiba’s photocoupler and photorelay products and roadmaps for each product family.
