Dear Reader
Firstly, on behalf of all at Arrow, I would like to wish you a very happy New Year and welcome you to the very first issue of Arrow Innovation in 2008.
In an industry as dynamic and as fast moving as the electronics sector it is vital for all companies - OEMs, CEMs, component manufacturers and distributors - to constantly evolve their product and service portfolio to meet ever-changing customer demands. At Arrow, we recognise and embrace this need for evolution, of which the most recent example is the creation of Arrow Advanced Embedded Solutions (AES).
Designed to provide a European focus on platform rather than component level technologies, AES covers solutions that range from displays and industrial computer products to power supplies and wireless modules. Operating systems – including the ‘de-facto standard’ Windows embedded technologies and support tools - also fall under the AES umbrella.
Customers in Northern Europe can see the full breadth of Arrow’s ‘Embedded Solution’ products by looking at our latest linecard (http://www.arrowne.com/supplierlist.shtml). In addition to highlighting a number of new suppliers across our product portfolio, we have added a new section that is dedicated to AES platforms. This section identifies Arrow’s franchised suppliers of LCD displays, single board computers, operating systems, AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, storage devices, Bluetooth, ZigBee and Wireless LAN modules and a whole host of related and complementary technologies that will simplify and speed application development.
By combining this focus on embedded solutions with our comprehensive and growing portfolio of on-board and off-board components – including semiconductors, passives, electromechanical devices, interconnection and cable and wire solutions – Arrow is well positioned to meet every possible technology requirement, from the most basic resistor to highly integrated plug-and-play embedded systems.
And, as you would expect from Arrow, these technologies are backed up by a comprehensive range of value added services that includes technical design-in and engineering support to help our customers further simplify and speed prototyping, implementation and final production.
I do hope that you enjoy this issue of Arrow Innovation. As always, should you have any comments or queries on any of the stories covered, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
