Barometric Pressure-Sensor Demonstrator

To help designers evaluate its new range of high quality, reliable air-pressure sensors, Infineon has developed a kit that demonstrates the operation and benefits of the devices.



The Infineon KP12x family of Barometric Air Pressure (BAP) sensors features devices suitable for different temperature levels that can meet the requirements of medium- to high-accuracy designs in industrial, automotive, medical and consumer applications.

The new miniaturised absolute pressure-sensor ICs use a capacitive technique to measure absolute air pressure and provide a ratiometric analogue output proportional to this pressure. The output signal is fully compensated over a wide pressure and temperature range to deliver accuracy levels of up to 1.0kPa.

The surface of each sensor is micro-machined with a monolithic integrated signal-conditioning circuit implemented in BiCMOS standard technology. All the devices are supplied in an 8-pin SMD package.



The new sensor family offers pressure measurement from 40kPa to 115kPa and operation at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +125°C.

The optional pressure-sensor demonstrator kit helps designers evaluate the new sensors.
