AT interface and FCC pre-approval hastens development
The Bluetooth® wireless communication protocol has become increasingly popular as a low-power means of transmitting data over short distances. In recent years, additional enhancements have enabled the Bluetooth protocol to support higher data rates.
Sporting a powerful ARM7 processor core and a receiver sensitivity of -86dBm (at 0.01% BER), the Infineon eUniStone is a complete system-data-module solution compliant with the Bluetooth 2.0 standard. It offers an integrated Bluetooth stack in ROM and an integrated Serial Port Profile (SPP) in RAM.
The module also incorporates an intuitive AT command interface over UART, enabling easy design-in and minimising host requirements.
The eUniStone is pre-approved for FCC and R&TTE to facilitate short development times and speedy readiness for market for products that incorporate it. The development engineer needs to procure a minimum of additional external components, all that is required is an antenna.
A series of reference designs and development kits are also available.
The shielded module has a compact footprint, measuring only 8.7mm x 11.6mm. It has 54 pads with a 1.20mm pitch and supports both leaded and non-leaded customer soldering processes.
