The SiC413 and SiC417 are microBuck, integrated, synchronous buck regulator ICs from Vishay Intertechnology. They feature advanced MCM packaging, an integral PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controller IC, MOSFET drivers, two PWM-optimised N-channel MOSFETs (high and low side) and a bootstrap diode.
These devices offer high-frequency operation (up to 1MHz for the SiC417) and peak conversion efficiencies of 93%. The 4A SiC413 comes in an SO-8 package (6.2mm x 5.0mm x 1.75 mm), with input voltage range of 4.75V to 26V and output voltage range of 0.6V to 13.2V.
The 10A SiC417 is a constant-on-time controller for superior transient response, packaged in a MLPQ 55-32 (5.0mm x 5.0mm x 0.85mm), with input voltage range of 3V to 28V and output voltage range of 0.5V to 5.5V.
The regulators reduce phase-node ringing and minimise EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) by eliminating PCB traces. The high and low-side MOSFETs provide low on-resistance for reduced power losses and better performance.
For safe operation, both devices feature cycle-by-cycle current limiting, internal soft start, undervoltage lockout, overvoltage protection and thermal shutdown at +150ºC.
