High Performance Switches

Omron continues to broaden its electromechanical switch portfolio with several new additions, including ultra-miniature rotary DIP switches and three switches using a unique seesaw mechanism to give better operational feel and reduce the risk of sparks.



The components in the A6K DIP switch series are just 7.2mm x 7.2mm square; they provide a convenient and compact solution to store settings in telecommunications infrastructure, consumer electronics and industrial control systems. Permutations offered include top or side actuation with a flat rotor or an extended shaft.

All styles are available with 10 or 16 switching positions and provide outputs coded to BCD or hexadecimal 1-2-4-8 code. The components come in a choice of through-hole or surface-mount package formats.

The A9T toggle, A9P pushbutton and A9S slide switches all utilise an innovative and unique semi-snap seesaw mechanism. This ensures high contact reliability combined with a quick electrical changeover (thus minimising the risk of sparks and chattering).

The A9T toggle variant is available with two or three positions and a standard, flat or anti-electrostatic actuator. Both the A9T and the A9P pushbutton switches are available with straight, right-angled or vertical mounting in latching and momentary versions. The A9S slide switch is available with two positions (changeover) or three positions (centre-off).

Other recent additions include the D2QW sealed detection switch featuring a self-cleaning slide contact, the B3SL waterproof tactile switch and A6TR/A6SR DIP switches.
