Based on the principle that form should follow function, the Kontron Concept Box series of fan-less compact embedded PC products is offered in a wide selection of physical sizes and can be flexibly configured according to the individual requirements of the application.
OEMs can configure their individual embedded PCs with respect to size, starting from the smallest dimensions of 40mm x 200mm x 200mm, and choose system components and the feature set to meet their system designs’ specific needs. The flexible assembly and interface options offered significantly reduce initial development costs. In addition, Kontron states that the system simulation will be ready within five days in each case and the first fully functioning prototype will be ready five weeks after successful simulation.
The Concept Box solutions can be used to serve the automation, point of sale, medical, security, transportation and gaming sectors. They give design engineers a tailor-made PC platform for their individual applications that combines the flexibility of a custom design and the time to market of a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) solution. This minimises the amount of customisation effort needed.
The flexible design is a considerable advantage for custom assembly in OEM devices and implementing application specific interfaces.
Reliable operation is maintained between temperatures ranging from 0°C to +50°C.
