Omron extends detection switch range
 Omron D3V miniature detection switches are ideal for use in a wide range of applications, from home appliances and office equipment to HVAC systems and vending machines. Offered with an extensive range of operating forces, current ratings, lever options, fitting options and terminal types, and now fully customisable as well, the D3V presents the optimum V style switch for almost every application.
Specific versions have been introduced by Omron to address the challenges of demanding high temperature environments. Designed to withstand temperatures of up to 200ºC, the high temperature D3V-T models use Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) plastic moulding material for its excellent high temperature performance, inherent flame retardance and chemical resistance.
For the home appliance market, Omron provides D3V GWT (Glow Wire Test) approved versions. Further product development is taking place in Munich, and new D3V versions, including a RAST 2.5 terminal type, are expected in the near future.
Ultra-miniature switch
The Omron D3SH is the smallest detection switch on the market, an ultra small surface mount design featuring a unique mechanism for high contact reliability. Measuring just 3mm x 3.4mm x 0.9mm, the D3SH is ideal for miniaturised and lightweight applications. Features include a high durability of greater than 100,000 operations, low operating force less than 0.3N, and two-way detection.
